The trip to Cambodia 2016

On January 9, I went to Siem Reap to see the great temples - Angkor Wat. It is the world's largest, and the city was once the world's largest city with 130,000 residents.

We left at 06:00. And arrived at the border (Krong Poi Pet) at noon. There was a leben second to none, with truck after truck carrying goods to Cambodia. They get 70% of everything from Thailand. Passport control was reasonable as the guide had the opportunity to skip the queue (an additional service that could bring good money) and after an hour we were ready. Visa cost 1,500 Thb (300 dkr), for Thai people it is free.

We did kept at Phkay Proek Restaurant, nothing special, and at 3.30pm we were staying near Preah Netr Preah and looked at a place where they sold sandstone.

Arrival at Siemens Reap at. 16, where we first saw a temple "Preah Ang Chek Preah Ang Chorm" near the old French palace, a place used by Pol Pot as a prison. Today is the hotel.

Afterwards we bought ticket tickets, price 20 USD pro persona. 50% go to Vietnam as payment to help the country in the 80s, 25% to UNESCO as a private payment to repair the many temples, and 25% to the country as tourist income .... Vietnam sits on many other sources of income in the country, yes In fact, the majority, for example. All land that can give returns, including Large forest areas where until 2080 they can loot the land for the few riches they have. No wonder they stay poor.

After that, the trip went to Wat Thmei, where we saw some of the many skulls found on the fields around, skulls after Pol Pots raining. The day was rounded with a visit to a large restaurant that seats 1,000 guests. Here it was on a buffet with a large selection. Wine could be bought at a price below 100, - Dkr.

This album deals with the trip back and forth. The pictures from Angkor Wat are collected in another album.

On our return trip, we visited a market where they sold long-term souvenirs.

At noon we had a short break at the quarry, after which we drove to the same restaurant in Krong Serei Saophoan (Phkay Proek Restaurant) as out of town for lunch.

At 14:30 we were at the border, where we changed bus again at home at 20:30.

The trip to Angkor Wat was over, back is the memories, 320 photos, little souvenirs and 5 Cambodian beers that taste great.
