Rajabhakti Park
Rajabhakti Park which pays tribute to 7 kings who have been of great importance to Thailand. It is to be found just 4 Km south of Hua-Hin
The album contains 8 photos.
Namtok Sai Khu
Namtok Sai Khu Waterfall & National Park is located just 3 Km from the Myanmar border and 75 Km south-west of Prachuap Khri Khan. It is difficult to access, and the last approx. 300 meters can only be reached with a 4x4 or SUV. The waterfall is dry from sometime in December until the rainy season sets in. In the rainy season, the path up to the waterfall is a sloppy lap, so the best time is just after the rainy season. There must currently not paid to see the park and the waterfall.
The album contains 15 photos.
Phra Mahathat Chedi Phakdee Prakat
Phra Mahathat Chedi Phakdee Prakat is a temple worth visiting if you are on Ban Krut beach. It is located high on a cliff with a view several kilometers in both northern and southern directions. It is a very beautiful temple, but without permanent monks.
I revisited the temple on December 10, 2022.
The album contains 17 photos.
Krommaluang Chumphon Khet Udomsak Palace
It is believed that Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak had stayed at this place for anchored warships. The model of the anchor was built by the palace facing the sea and surrounded by a flower garden and vicarages.
He is the father of the Thai Navy, who has been respected by sailors, boatmen, fishermen and especially Chumphon people. It can be said that almost every house in Chumphon has his image to worship as he is so loved that he is called "Sadet Tia".
I revisited the temple on December 1, 2022.
The album contains 7 photos.
Rama V Summer Palace
In the north of Hau Hin is Mrigadayavan Palace, Rama V Summer Palace. It is built in teak wood and it is located right down to the water. You can rent a bike and cycle around in the big park. Not here photography is allowed indoors. It is worth a visit.
The different buildings connected to each other via long walks like these, so the king and his people did not have to go to the ground, but high up where reptiles could not get up.
The album contains 12 photos.
Rama VI summer palace
In the middle of Petchaburi lies Phra Ram Ratchaniwet (Ban Pun Palace). It is the Rama VI summer palace. The present king is Rama X. There are only the buildings left, all movables are removed from the summer palace. Admission is free, but as in the other royal councils, photography is not permitted on the inside.
The album contains 5 photos.
Rama IV Summer Palace
In Phetchaburi is Phra Nakhon Khiri (Khao Wang) - Rama IV Palace. It is high up on the mountain with magnificent views throughout the area. You take the cable car up here, and then it's a walk around between the approx. 10 different buildings spread throughout the mountain.
It's not everyone there to see it all in one day because it's far to the outermost building. The trip is not too busy, nor even if they have installed a lift a couple of places.
I revisited the temple on 8th December 2022.
The album contains 16 photos.
Phraya Nakhon Caves
50 Km south of Hua-Hin or 50 Km north of Prachuap Khiri Khan you will find these very beautiful caves and they are definitely worth a visit. The caves can be reached by hiking up the mountain, or you can be sailed on the other side where you are put ashore, and walk on a less steep path up to the caves.
Actually, it is a mistake to call them caves because it is open from the top of the mountain. The caves were discovered by Chao Praya Nakhon Sri Thammarat for approx. 200 years ago when he sought refuge from a violent storm.
I visited this grorte for the first time in November 2014, and most recently again in February 2021. The trip is absolutely NOT for people
The album contains 29 photos.
Monsoon Valley Vineyard
30-40 Km West of Hua Hin is located Monsoon Valley Vineyard (Formerly Hua Hin Vineyard) Here, some grapes are produced mainly for wine. It's actually not so bad, and they've got more medals for it. The wine is not produced here, but inside Samut Sakhon, next door to Bangkok. The place also has a restaurant where you can get some light food but also taste their wines. If you are in high season, it is a good idea to book a table in advance.
The album contains 4 photos.
