Khao Yai National Park
Khao Yai National Park is located approximately 100 km north-east of Bangkok. There is an entrance fee to enter, 10x as much for foreigners as Thais...(!)
The path down to the water level goes over a section with a 60% drop, so the trip is not for people with walking difficulties,

Then I'm in Khao Yai National Park, an area that covers more than 2,000 square kilometers of forest and grassland in central Thailand. More than 50km of hiking and cycling trails wind through the long-standing nature reserve, and its many waterfalls include the 150m high Haew Narok and the 20m high Haew Suwat, immortalized in the Danny Boyle film 'The Beach.' The park also houses diverse wildlife such as bears, gibbons, elephants and hornbills.
5 years ago I was here last, and then I got quite close to the wildlife, elephants for example.

This stone simply marks that this is a national park. BUT, this kind of thing is used for photography many thousands of times every day.

Everywhere in Thailand you can buy coffee, a national park is no exception.

Trees with these nuts have always fascinated me, and such trees will also be here in 1-200 years

I am now at the descent to a waterfall. Here the terrain drops by 60-80° Some elephants had strayed down that path a few years ago and had crashed, so cement posts had now been set up to prevent a repeat.
2022
The steep descent is not for people who walk poorly.

The Khao Yai waterfall is quite beautiful. The water flows on into the Tha Dan River. The water is regulated 7½ km west of the waterfall in the Khun Dan Prakarn Chon Dam

There are not many branches on this tree, it has stood closer to others in the past.

This is a bamboo-like plant, but with some thorns to keep animals away.

Parasitic plants also live here in abundance.
