OBS!

Phraya Nakhon Caves

50 Km south of Hua-Hin or 50 Km north of Prachuap Khiri Khan you will find these very beautiful caves and they are definitely worth a visit. The caves can be reached by hiking up the mountain, or you can be sailed on the other side where you are put ashore, and walk on a less steep path up to the caves.

Actually, it is a mistake to call them caves because it is open from the top of the mountain. The caves were discovered by Chao Praya Nakhon Sri Thammarat for approx. 200 years ago when he sought refuge from a violent storm.

I visited this grorte for the first time in November 2014, and most recently again in February 2021. The trip is absolutely NOT for people who are walking badly, and it requires that you are physically in a reasonable shape. There is also a sign a short distance up which says that you must consider whether you are physically able to complete it.
You should wear proper shoes and I would advise against going up the mountain if it is raining.

The boat trip cost 400, - Thb, and 200, - Thb to visit the national park. Like everywhere else, they have this slightly petty-racist price, where the Thais pay much less, here only 40, - Children are half price. I revisited the caves on December 11, 2022.
